4 DNA Testing - Court Admissible DNA Paternity Test
First you should talk to a solicitor about having a paternity test done.
This test can be done for legal purposes such as:
- Challenging a will
- Giving proof to a court of law
- Changing a birth certificate
- For government departments like Child Support Agency, Family Law Court, Birth, Deaths and Marriages and Immigration.
In a Court Admissible Paternity Test, samples can only be collected by a doctor or nurse as it is based on a strict chain of custody. These results can be used as evidence in court proceedings and they are intended to determine the relationship between a child and its alleged father.
These types of test involve samples taken from the mother, child and alleged father. It is possible to carry out the tests without the mother but is easier if her samples are present with no extra charges.
Court Admissible Test procedure
